Bleach 583/584 - Review

The Headless Star 2 - 583

Well with this chapter we see the 4 female Sternritter just getting thrown back like rag dolls.  Seems Ichigo's 'true' power being unlocked was massive.  I think its a cheesy way to boost him up, but still its absurdly massive.

With this chapter, though, we do see a bit of comedy tossed into the mix ; Candice crashes into a building...and then Giselle crashes into her, and then Meninas into them, and then Liltotto into them. Candice even points out how they did it on purpose. Obviously this sends her into a fit on top of the fit she was already in cause her hair got dusty.

Though after she sees everyone agrees Ichigo should die, Candice gets the other girls to envision what they would wish for Yhwach to give them, and while Meninas things of furnishings and Liltotto thinks of food, Giselle thinks of...nothing. Just black. It's both hilarious and disturbing at the same time.

At this point, Candice powers up and charges toward Ichigo using her full power but to no avail.  Afterwards she unleashes, what I think anyways, is her most powerful attack - Electrocution.  Though the real shocker (no pun intended), is Ichigo unleashes a new attack - Getsuga Jujisho - which apparently is a dual layer Getsuga of sorts that looks like a giant X.  Either way, seeing Ichigo use a NEW attack after seeing him yell his signature attack chapter after chapter, its a bit of fresh air.  With that, the chapter ends.

However, as I mentioned on Twitter I was switching to a Bi-weekly format so after this bit, I'll move into the subsequent chapter! (This message won't be in following dual reviews)

The Headless Star 3 - 584

With the start of this chapter, Getsuga Jujisho obviously smoked Candice's attack and plowed right through it.  Ichigo good sir, you're overpowered....just sayin'.  Anyways, Ichigo is even nice enough to tell her to avoid it.  What happens?  Her arms gets blown off.  Of course, this really pisses her off.  Wait...wasn't she already pissed off?

Anyways, she gets Giselle to come and restore her arm without using blood.  Giselle noting that she can't turn living Quincies into zombies. That, of course, raises the question of what exactly happened to Bambietta, as she was still alive the last we saw her and Giselle would have had to kill her to zombify her way back when she got stomped.

With a turn of events, Bazz-B shows up with his Quincy: Vollstandig and, because he is an asshole, uses Burner Finger 1 on all four Sternritter (him being here, of course, also raises the question of what happened to Shinji). Apparently, he thinks it's okay to steal prey if you're late to the battle (despite him calling out Cang for doing this way back in 552 - nice bit of hypocrisy there).  Dick.

Then Pepe, NaNaNa, and the still not named old guy all show up as well (I think I'll just call him Colonel Sanders, he looks like him for whatever reason). But, it turns out the four female Ritter are more enduring than we thought, since they're ready to fight after being pierced by what amounts to a javelin of fire.

Even with this, Ichigo doesn't give a crap.  He seems like hes willing to go 8 on 1.  Of course I doubt this will be the case, since we already know Renji, Rukia, and so forth are all heading towards that area.  Some of the other captains that are still alive aren't accounted for yet either.  Given all this, seems its going to be a massive crapfest, especially with Yhwach doing whatever hes doing with a "key".  

Either way, both of these chapters were solid and is keeping pace towards the final showdown.  Pity this arc didn't make it to the anime, would have been awesome.
